Valley Football Student-Athletes Honored for Academics

A total of 12 Missouri Valley Football Conference student-athletes have been selected to the Capital One Academic all-District teams, which was announced Thursday. All will advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration later this month. South Dakota State's seven academic all-district selections were the most of any Division I program.

Selections to the Capital One Academic All-District Teams were determined by a vote of sports information directors. To be eligible, student-athletes must carry a minimum 3.30 grade point average, appear in at least 50 percent of the team games played, be a starter or important reserve, and completed at least one academic year at the institution. District 5 includes all Division I programs within the states of: Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. District 6 includes programs in Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
