Four MVFC Teams Ranked
Four MVFC schools are ranked in the FCS Top 25 polls this week. UNI is the top ranked school at No. 4 in both polls. North Dakota State (5/5), Illinois State (14/14), and Indiana State (rv/23) also represent the league in the Sports Network Fathead.com and FCS Coaches polls, respectively.

Four Ranked in Top 25
Counting the Nov. 14, 2011, top-25 polls, a minimum of four Valley Football teams have been ranked in the same top-25 poll 97 times in league history, including 55 times since 2005. The league had four or more ranked teams in the same poll in seven polls this season.

Panthers’ Streak Is 3rd-Best
UNI has been ranked in 90-consecutive regular-season polls, and that ranks as the third-longest streak in league history. Southern Illinois was in 98-straight top-25 polls from September 2003 until October 2010, and UNI’s streak of 96 (September 1990 through October 1997) is second-best.

Top-10 Teams
Counting this week (North Dakota Sate UNI), two Valley Football schools have been ranked in the Top 10 during the same week 160 times in league history. From 2003 through 2009, the league had at least two top-10 teams in a minimum of 10 regular-season polls every year. Last year, only two weeks had two MVFC teams in the Top 10. This year, it’s already happened 10 times.

Sycamores in the Top 25
Indiana State jumped into the Top 25 polls on Sept. 26 for the first time since November 1996, and ISU has been ranked eight-straight weeks. Since becoming a league member in 1986, Indiana State had not been ranked in the Top 25 for more than five-consecutive weeks in any season prior to this year. Although ISU attained a No. 1 ranking before joining the league, its highest rank as an MVFC school is No. 14.

Illinois State at No. 14 Again
Illinois State has now been ranked in The Sports Network/Fathead.com poll for four-consecutive weeks and has its highest ranking since 2007, when it was also ranked No. 14 on Sept. 17 that year. The Redbirds have won five-straight games to improve to 7-3 on the season and face No. 4 UNI this week.
