CLEVELAND, Ohio--A total of 10 Missouri Valley Football Conference players are listed on Phil Steele's 2011 Preseason Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) All-America Team.  Phil Steele's College Football Preview magazine also released its 2011 All-Missouri Valley Football Conference team.  

The MVFC will release its 2011 pre-season team and poll on Aug. 1.

Missouri Valley Football action begins Thursday, Sept. 1, with a pair of games that night.  Western Illinois visits Sam Houston State, while Illinois State is at Eastern Illinois.  Both games that evening are televised.  The EIU-ISU game is the 100th in the series.

Other games in that opening weekend include Youngstown State-Michigan State (Friday); Indiana State-Penn State (Saturday); Missouri State-Arkansas (Saturday); Lafayette-North Dakota State (Saturday); UNI-Iowa State (Saturday); Southern Utah-South Dakota State (Saturday); and Southern Illinois-Southeast Missouri State (Saturday).
