Valley Football Suspends NDSU's Paschall For Fighting

ST. LOUIS - The Missouri Valley Football Conference announced today that North Dakota State University football student-athlete Pat Paschall has been suspended for one game for fighting in the fourth quarter of NDSU's game against Northern Iowa on Oct. 10, 2009.
After a review of relevant video and interviews with involved parties, it is the conference's determination that Paschall's conduct during an out-of-bounds play constitutes fighting in accordance with NCAA Rule 9-5.  In consultation with NCAA National Coordinator Dave Parry, Secretary-Rules Editor Rogers Redding and the Missouri Valley Football Coordinator of Officials Bill Carollo, the conference has determined a one-game suspension, as prescribed by NCAA rules, is appropriate.
The Missouri Valley Football Conference commends the game officials, North Dakota State administrators and the coaching staff in the team bench area for quick action to prevent further escalation.
The Missouri Valley Football Conference considers this matter concluded and will have no further comment.
